A bit about me...

Welcome! I’m Matt Hammond, a seasoned HR leader, consultant, and advocate for creating people-first workplaces that inspire growth and deliver results. My journey into HR began with a deep appreciation for the psychology of people—understanding what drives them, what motivates them, and how businesses can unlock their true potential.

I believe a thriving business starts with its people. Whether it's listening to employees on the frontline, fostering psychological safety, or aligning company values with actions, I’m passionate about creating workplaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

I’m also a firm believer in addressing the small things that drive great performance. From fixing small issuesto improving communication systems, it’s often these "trivial" issues that make the biggest impact on team morale and productivity.

My Experience

 

 

With over 25 years of leadership experience—starting as a retail manager —I’ve worked across diverse industries, including retail, travel, manufacturing, telecoms, and hospitality. These roles gave me a unique perspective on the challenges businesses face at all levels, from managing complex teams to aligning organisational structures for growth.

Most recently, I’ve been fortunate to lead transformational HR initiatives as HR Director, tackling everything from improving culture to strategic workforce planning. My real-world experience, combined with a deep understanding of psychology and behavioural insights, allows me to deliver tailored solutions that drive measurable results.

After years of working in HR and leadership roles across diverse industries, I started to notice a recurring theme: many businesses struggled to balance performance with people. Too often, culture, communication, and values took a backseat to short-term results—and the long-term cost was high.

I’ve always believed that great businesses are built on great people. That’s why I started this consultancy: to help organisations align their mission and values, create environments where people thrive, and ultimately drive better performance.
